09:42 pm - Oh my god even MORE Venture Products
The Venture Bros. Black Hearts Ladies Shirt
The Black Hearts are a merciless group of female assassins, unrivaled in their prowess as killers for hire. How fitting, then, that this Black Hearts shirt is our first women-exclusive Venture Bros. item. That's right, fellas. You'll have to sit this one out while the ladies strut their savage stuff in this snug little number that'll have you feeling like a member of an exclusive league of homicidal entrepreneurs.
  • Hugs and complements your slender, lethal frame
  • Black: goes with anything in your wardrobe, makes you undetectable in the dark of night
  • Sex change not required for use by males... but recommended

The Venture Bros. Journal
Being an arch-villain is complicated. You're keeping track of guild meetings, kidnapping appointments, countless attack plans... and how are you supposed to jot down a sudden burst of villainous inspiration if you're busy fleeing the crumbling remains of your rival's headquarters? We'll tell you how: with this handy-dandy Venture Bros. journal. Keep this little gem close to your spandex uniform and you'll never lose track of your despicable life of crime again.
  • Made from 100% recycled materials
  • 100 pages make the perfect portfolio for your 100 plans to kill Dr. Venture
  • Extra pocket in back holds your documents, cyanide capsules, filthy secrets
  • Useful reference when struggling with those long, villainous monologues

Venture Bros. Zipper Pulls
Four out of every five zippers suffer from chronic depression and loneliness. Didn't know that, did you? Clearly. Why, just look at your zipper, sitting all alone. Help the little guy out by purchasing this set of Venture Bros. zipper pulls. By ordering these skull-based emblems of Sgt. Hatred, Dr. Henry Killinger, the Black Hearts, and the show logo, you'll gain additional ornamentation for your ensemble and give your poor zipper the greatest gift of all: friendship. Awwwww.
  • Set of four; perfect for over-decorating your zipper-excessive wardrobe
  • Improve your reputation as a badass by covering your body in tiny, metal skulls
  • Marginally increase the volume of jingly-jangly noises your clothes make with every step

...So yeah, these are pretty cool. And the products just get cooler from here! Look out for some exclusive collector's items coming up in the following two weeks.

Until then I will either be working on my day job, working on my freelance job, or playing New Super God Damn Mario Bros. Wii until I collapse from exhaustion. Ambulances, stand at the ready! Your services will surely be needed.

By the way, in case my amazing salesman skills haven't already sold you on the product, here is the best preview the internet has to offer c/o the funny folks at Giant Bomb:

11:24 am - Krimpet Konklusion??
And lest anyone think this blog has just become a way to promote the podcast: exciting news on the Krimpet front!

We think--hope, pray--we might've cracked the case. My hypethesis was that the cat was yowling throughout the night because she's gotten too old to be able to jump up on the counter where we keep her food. We have to keep it up there otherwise Wrigley, the voracious pug, will eat it. Solution? Put the food on the floor so she can eat it--but tie Wrigley (with his leash) up so that he can't get to it!

It's absurdly simple. The idea of the dog wearing his harness and leash in the house is strange (and we only put it on right before we go to sleep) but he doesn't seem to care one way or the other and he still gets to sleep in the bedroom with us. Meanwhile, it's been two nights in a row where the cat has not woken us up!! I don't want to jinx it but this is the best sleep I've had in months!

Fingers crossed!

07:23 am - SOOO BOOORED

I like being a night person. The best TV shows are on at night, my family is all asleep and not lecturing at me, there's nobody on the road if I want to go for a drive, and I just generally like nighttime. But with nowhere to go, nothing to do, nobody to hang out with, and not even being able to use the Internet... it just gets so dang boring. D:

On the getting kicked out moving out of my own choice front:
Gah, I'm just waiting around for my mom to e-mail me back about whether I can move some of my stuff up there and whatever. Also, to see whether or not I can get out of here for Thanksgiving (man, I didn't even realize the stupid holidays were almost here...). Stress stress stress, blah blah blah, same as always. :(

12:37 am - I have caved
The other day I had a thought. It went something like this:
"hhhm, I want to post about something but it's not really useful, kind of inane. It's not really livejournal worthy, probably better for Twitter."

So now I have a Twitter account. I'm not proud or anything, but what do you know? It's fun.

ANOTHER thing I just started doing is watching Star Trek generations! They started showing it on TV around 11 every weeknight so now [info]mrcolossal and I watch it every day.

I have to admitt, I have the same feelings about it that I had about Twitter! That it would suck and be boring, but what do you know? It's pretty awesome.

ANYWAY here is some fucking ridiculous Star Trek shit I have come across in my travels:

These are pretty cool, little model drawings of all the ship's rooms:

LOOK AT THIS WEBSITE, this woman makes not only Trek paintings, but LABYRINTH TOO not to mention FIVE PAGES OF SNAPE ART!!!!

My favorite:

I fucking hate Q and the Holodeck and love Picard like there is no fucking tomorrow.

So come follow me on my Twitter, where I will give 2 line reviews of every Trek episode I watch every hot fucking day! Watch as I descend into dorkatudes unknown.

05:04 pm - Turn it up.
I haven't listened to much interesting music for a while, because that makes me want to draw, and I still can't really let myself do that. So it feels strange to realize that I've deprived myself of music in a lot of ways. But I do occasionally listen to the shared iTunes libraries at work; sometimes I can find stuff that is enjoyable without being too distracting. And sometimes I'm really frustrated with clients, so I put on Nine Inch Nails or Rammstein and that helps me burn through the work. Or I might have really repetitive task, and Daft Punk or The Chemical Brothers is good for that. More rambling. )

03:04 pm - Daily Drawing: Masquerade
Masquerade
For Sale on Etsy

This one took three hours, waaaay over my 'must be completed within one hour' guideline :P But I really, really enjoyed working on it and I think I can actually use it for something else later on.

This is officially the second Daily Drawing that I've been happy with! Man, you'd think with me drawing comics all the time that I'd be comfortable drawing just regular ol' stand-alone illustrations but I'm really, really, really not. But then again, that's one of the reasons behind doing one a day now, to force me to get comfortable-er drawing! So.

06:14 pm - The Fun of Doing Comics
Recently I've been stumbling around with the whole "how do I keep this drawing comics thing fun when it is my job?' thing. I know it sounds kind of weird, because drawing comics IS fun, but once the thing that you used to do "for fun" becomes the thing you do for work ... okay, it's not like it STOPS being fun, I LOVE doing it, but it becomes something ... else. I went to school for animation, and have worked in the animation industry for a few years, and all during that time I drew comics for fun. I always thought that drawing would be something hard to keep going with once I started pursing it as a career, but animation is different enough from comics so that wasn't a problem. I have an animation friend in Ontario who I like to meet up with and talk shop whenever I'm back there visiting and he works in animation to pay the bills, and does comics on the side. When I last saw him he was drawing storyboards for an animated show, and having a hard time working on his comics. He said it was difficult to find motivation to work on his comics while he was drawing storyboards because when you storyboard "you use the same part of your brain you use for comics. It's just too similar." I kind of know how he feels now.

I love doing comics, but when I take a few hours off on the weekend, and think about the things I want to do during my off time, and how oh gosh, it'd be nice to draw some comics for fun, the minute I think that some slightly exhausted person inside me shrieks (usually in a British accent, because I have a British interior monologue) "NNNNNNOOOOO you just did that for the past EIGHTY HOUUURRRRSS!" ... and that is why I end up dreamily staring at the TV for several hours on a Saturday without my sketchbook in hand, something Past Me would be horrified at, since previously I would never sit in front of the television without a sketchbook on which to sketch furiously.

Comics are so much fun. But they are also my work. But they're fun... I want to do more of them, but I've been drawing so many pages of them the thought of picking up my pencil and drawing another is a terrible drag, and shouldn't I be doing something fun during my downtime? Something fun like drawing comics?

... it's about this time that I attempt to turn off my British interior monologue, and retreat to watching reruns of Law & Order.
