I wanted to scan some older sketch pages from the time I was gone, but... Well I haven't. I would have done it already if it were just scanning, but they're all really light sketches, and I'd have to go over all of them with bolder lines if I wanted the scanner to see anything. Kind of a chore, you know?

So! That's not going to happen for a while. As such, I'm just gonna post some things from deviantART and, so that this isn't just a gigantic repost that could just as well be "here is a link to my deviantART gallery", some other stuff that I didn't put there as well.

So, uh, here's that!

"Stigmata Corpus" is totally gibberish. I just wanted to draw a fucked up cyborg.

Hi there, people who still read this. It's been over a year since I've posted anything. And for that, I am ~~a douchebag~~ very sorry. I am going to try posting more here! Would you guys want me to catch up with old work starting from when I stopped posting, all the way to recent work, or just start posting new stuff? Assuming a "you guys" still exists, that is. It is entirely possible that I have been exiled from the internet during my one-year hiatus.

Apparently I have a lot more Modest Mouse than I had previously thought.

I'm sure most of the (very few) people who read my posts are familiar with ScatchBlag, comic artist Cory Walker's impressive feat of a single sketch a day for 365 days. But what if I told you of an artist so daring as to fill an entire massive page with sketches in that very same 24-hour period? Would your mind totally be blown? I bet it would. And that is why I'm here to do just that.

Take a look at this. This is Rob Laro's new sketchblog, some 100-200 sketches on one page, every day. Get on this wagon before it fills up, folks. You'll be glad you did.

Super Masko Man vs. The Dread Pirate Captain Sir Gristmas Forkhard!

So, about a month ago someone on a forum I visit asked the following question.

Q: Is it nobler, when called to account for one’s crimes, to plead guilty and stay silent, to plead guilty and ask to be forgiven, to plead guilty and ask for clemency, or to plead guilty and ask for both clemency and forgiveness?

Note that this presupposes that one did indeed commit the aforementioned and unspecified crime, and it also takes as a given that the individual confessing is willing to own up to it.

I am intrigued to see what your answers and underlying reasons are.

My answer to this question was a long and action-packed tale of space adventures, following the brave hero of the cosmos, Super Masko Man. Said tale, along with a full-color visual aid, can be seen after the cut.

A: I think the best thing to do in this situation is to plead guilty and stay silent, and while they're deciding your sentence, punch the judge in the face. Grab his gavel and use that to take out the security guard, then the two at the door will charge you, and this is when you will activate the Super Masko Beam, blasting off into space.

Safe now inside the Super Masko Rocket, you equip and activate the Super Masko Cannon and the Super Masko Mask, now ready for battle. Just then, the ship is hit. You run to the controls and find out on the Super Masko Radar that you're being attacked by space pirates! You know exactly what you have to do.

You set a course on the Super Masko Map, a difficult route, straight through the moon. 'Good thing my rocket is made of pure carbon and smashes through planets,' you say to yourself. You activate Space Mode on the Super Masko Mask, and it secures yourself for space combat. You open up the air lock, and fly out to battle, propelling yourself with your Super Masko Booster Boots.

You zoom straight into the pirates, blasting through their ship's hull with the Masko Cannon. Their ship begins to catch fire as the deep space bandits are sucked out into the vacuum of space, doomed to float aimlessly in the deep black abyss for eternity. A large explosion sounds as the thieves' vessel is blown into metal scrap.

Just as you begin to head back to the Super Masko Rocket, thinking the job is done, the vicious Dread Pirate Captain Sir Gristmas Forkhard speeds at you, his body resembling a large mass of muscles with a head, hands and very small legs more than anything. He wears a glass fishbowl over his head to keep him safe in the cold vacuum of space, but his face is red and his eyes bug out of his head. His tiny legs are kicking as fast as they can to propel himself further toward you.

His large, pulsing body crashes into you, sending you into a near unstoppable spiral. You blast your Booster Boots, putting a stop to your spinning and setting your course, straight into Captain Forkhard. You speed toward him with incredible speed, your speediness speeding you into pure speed-dom. He sees you coming at him and thrusts his body toward you, projecting himself in your direction. Even with your incredible speed, you couldn't possibly survive the crash you're about to take.

Thinking quickly, you produce from your Super Masko Belt a small device with a large red button on it, the Super Masko Defendoid-tron. You press the red button, activating the machine. It glows and shakes for a moment, before creating a large orange bubble around you.

Sir Gristmas's eyes bug out even further from his head at the sight of the bubble shield, knowing exactly what his fate will be. He tries to turn himself around, to avoid the bubble, to no avail.

Then, collision. The mass of muscle and limbs crashes against the large orange sphere, bouncing him back and sending him into an uncontrollable spiral, his legs kicking desperately, and his arms trying to do the same. He drifts off into oblivion, likely never to be seen again.

You activate the Masko Beam once again, teleporting you back onto the Super Masko Rocket. You de-activate Space Mode and remove the Super Masko Booster Boots, sitting down at your control panel. You set a course on the Masko Map, to Jupiter. The engines rumble, spin, and finally let loose as you blast off into the endless black oblivion.

Yeah, sorry I haven't done much art as of late. I've been getting these migraines that make me really dizzy, unable to focus my eyes on the paper. It's been killing me. Got me out of school and everything.

Anyway, they've sort of been letting up lately, so I was finally able to draw something! I think my style's changed a bit in my absence. Weird.

1. How long have you been drawing for (and don't say 'since I was young')?
I've been drawing seriously for about three years now. It's pretty cool how much I've improved in this time.

2. Venture Bros. - Stupidity or arse kickery?
This is a question that does not need answering. I love Venture Bros.

3. Who's your favourite artist, comic/cartoon or otherwise?
Hmm... Probably Nate Bellegarde. His style influenced me from pretty early on, when I first started drawing things that didn't suck. All of those back-ups in Invincible were very influential on me, both the art and the humor. I owe Benito and Nate a lot.

4. What do you find is a regular muse?
Music, really. Music and music videos. Old games, too.

5. What put you on to me, outside of LJ curiosity?
I can't remember, for the life of me. You were on my Friends list one day, and I couldn't remember adding you. You seem pretty cool, though, so it's all good!

One last thing tonight, before I forget. The reason I've been rather inactive on here (other than school) is that I recently pre-ordered The Orange Box, therefore earning me a place in the Team Fortress 2 beta. I'm re-living my childhood, you guys. 4-year-old me RULED Team Fortress Classic.

TF2 is quickly working its way up to the top of my list of favorite games ever, second only to Monkey Island 3. It's easily the best-looking game I've ever played, and not because it's the most realistic. The art direction, my gods. It's beautiful.

If you've gotten in, too, add me on your Steam profile and we might be able to arrange a game or something.

And if this don't tickle your fancy, well then I guess there's just no pleasing you.
